Hi Troop 88,
I have been watching the weather and I may have to reschedule my Eagle project because of the snow storm.
If it snows while we are in school, Mr. Morris will not be able to stay after school and we will not be able to use the Woodshop. So, unfortunately, my project will be cancelled.
But, if there is no snow, the project will continue as scheduled. Let's hope it doesn't snow!

Hi Troop 88,
This is Patrick Devine. Thanks to all of you who attended my Eagle project. It was a huge success. I couldn't have done it without your help. Because we were able to complete my project, we will not need to meet on Sunday, February 1st.

This will be a traditional T88 overnight with a twist that will hopefully become a Troop 88 tradition.
Saturday afternoon we will be inviting family members to join us for an afternoon of scouting fun followed by a feast prepared by the troop.
Full details to follow but we need an accurate headcount of all scouts and adults who will be camping with us, as well as a count of who will be joining us on Saturday.
PLEASE NOTE: The registration deadline is Dec 3rd.

The zoo would like to have us back for one more day to complete my Eagle project. We will spend two to three hours spreading compost and sowing seeds. It will start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 22 November, right after we finish up clearing the yard at Grace United Methodist Church. Food will be provided. Bring your work gloves.

Registration for merit badge college is due December 10.
All First Class and above Scouts, by December 20, are elligible to participate.
Please note that scouts should not register individually. We will collect all registrations and submit them as a troop. Therefore, all checks and registration forms should be dropped off at a troop meeting or left in my mailbox (see attachment) no later than December 10.
We will need a volunteer to organize the troop's car pool. We will explain the process to the person who volunteers.
All checks should be payable to "Troop 88".

As a followup to the announcement by Pierce, at the troop meeting, regarding the Sustainability Merit Badge -
A sustainability merit badge class will be offered at the Trumbull Nature and Arts Center in 2 sessions. The first session will be on October 14, at 7:30 p.m. The second session will be on November 18 at 7:30 p.m. The five week period should be enough time for the scouts to complete all the merit badge requirements.
A minimum of five scouts are required to run the merit badge session. If 5-10 scouts sign up, the fee will be $15.00 per scout. If more than 10 scouts sign up, then the price drops to $10.00 per scout.
